Occupational exposure may pose an even greater risk to employees and occupants in commercial environments. Duration of exposure often increases in commercial settings adding to an ever growing list of risk management concerns faced in business today. If your property tests positive for dangerous levels, our commercial mitigation systems can reduce liability and offer a valuable addition to your health and wellness strategy by protecting staff and occupants from the risks associated with this environmental threat.
Airscan Environmental is experienced in testing and mitigating commercial properties including health and long term care facilities.
As Radon Gas decays, it emits Alpha Radiation. Radon and Natural Gas are both colorless, odorless, and tasteless in their natural state. However, local municipalities add a chemical called Mercaptan to our Natural Gas supply in order to provide a detectable smell, warning us if we have a problem. Unfortunately, we have no indicators with Radon Gas.
Nebraska has the 3rd highest statewide Radon levels in the country and readings of over 20 pCi/L are not uncommon. The EPA recommended action level of 4pCi/L is equivalent to smoking 10 cigarettes per day. So it's no surprise that Radon is the Number 1 cause of Lung Cancer among Non Smokers and the 2nd leading cause among those who do smoke.
Protecting your family's health and your home's air quality is up to you and it all starts with having your home tested by a certified and licensed professional. A Radon Test will determine whether your home is safe or your levels require action. Mitigating Radon Gas to levels closer to those found outdoors is a simple and affordable process.
