What is Radon?

Radon periodic table

Radon is a cancer causing Radioactive Gas. Like Natural Gas, both are colorless, odorless, and tasteless in their natural state.  Municipalities add Mercaptan to our Natural Gas supply in order to provide a detectable smell, warning us of its presence. Unfortunately, we have no indicators with Radon Gas. Testing is the only way to know if your home is safe.

Why is Radon Dangerous?

Nebraska 3rd Highest State wide Radon Levels in the country

Nebraska has the 3rd highest statewide Radon levels in the country and readings of over 20 pCi/L are not uncommon. The EPA recommended action level of 4pCi/L is equivalent to smoking 10 cigarettes per day. So it's no surprise that Radon is the Number 1 cause of Lung Cancer among Non Smokers and the 2nd leading cause among those who do smoke.
